A profession is regulated when it has a legal or regulatory requirement for a professional to register with a regulatory body prior to practising that profession. The regulatory body is responsible for assessing a professional’s prior training and experience to determine whether they are suitably qualified to practise. If your profession falls into this category and you would like to practise it in the UK, it will be necessary to contact the regulatory body directly.
Please note that in the UK, some competences such as education and law are devolved to the separate nations of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Please check to confirm whether your profession is regulated where you wish to practise.
